09-28-2026 PART 1: When His Presence Matters More Than Our Performance

Section 1

Sometimes God allows us to reach the limits of our own strength so we can rediscover where our confidence truly belongs. Dr. Dave points to Paul’s remarkably transparent words in Second Corinthians, where the apostle admits being burdened beyond his ability to endure and even despairing of life itself. 09282026A That Scripture became intensely personal after continuing technical problems with the ministry left Dr. Dave exhausted and frustrated. After hours of trying to solve everything himself, he finally spoke openly to God about what he was feeling. His desire was sincere: he wanted the ministry polished, effective, and honoring to the Lord. Yet underneath that good intention was an important lesson waiting to be learned. Excellence may be worthwhile, but the effectiveness of ministry ultimately cannot depend upon our ability to control every detail.

Section 2

A devotional brought the lesson into sharp focus: “This Isn’t Business. It’s Ministry.” Colossians 4:17 calls believers to complete the ministry they have received from the Lord, but ministry is not fundamentally about platforms, polish, or performance—it is about God’s presence and faithfully following His leadership. 09282026A Then, while attending church Sunday, Dr. Dave sensed that the technology itself needed to change. Within a short period, a surprisingly simple adjustment provided a new direction for the broadcast. Whether every technical problem disappears is secondary to the greater realization: whatever good this ministry accomplishes happens because of God’s grace. We do not need to understand everything in order to walk with Him. We need to know Him, follow Him, and allow His presence to become more important than our performance.

Section 3

Paul explains why overwhelming circumstances can accomplish something spiritually valuable: they teach us not to trust in ourselves but in God. That principle reaches far beyond broadcasting equipment or ministry challenges. We can become consumed with controlling our families, circumstances, churches, work, or even everything happening in society, while God remains completely aware of every detail. 09282026A Our responsibility is to do the best we can before the Lord, acknowledge Him, and trust Him to direct the path. There will still be mistakes, imperfect moments, unexpected changes, and things beyond our ability to fix. Instead of allowing those realities to become failures, they can become opportunities to surrender control. Dr. Dave returns to the ministry’s central purpose: drawing closer to God, closer to one another, and becoming better billboards for Jesus. Ministry is not performance—it is obedience, and the presence of God matters more than the polish of the presentation.
