10-20-2026 PART 1: The Empty Tomb Is God’s Answer to Every Fear

Section 1

Returning to Matthew 28, Dr. Dave begins by recalling Eric’s recent call about “gracelets,” those unexpected moments when God reveals His goodness. What Eric didn’t realize was that his testimony became an answer to prayer for Dr. Dave and Noelle. Yet even after recognizing God’s involvement, Dr. Dave admits that doubt briefly entered his mind. Turning to the resurrection account, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary arrive at the tomb, where an angel has rolled away the stone. The guards are so terrified that they collapse in fear. Dr. Dave reminds listeners that the stone wasn’t moved so Jesus could escape, but so others could enter and witness the evidence. Fear paralyzes, but faith moves us toward God’s promises.

Section 2

The angel’s first message to the women is remarkably simple: “Don’t be afraid.” Drawing from 2 Timothy 1:7, Dr. Dave explains that God has not given His children a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Fear often involves anticipating disaster, expecting disappointment, or believing circumstances are greater than God’s ability to intervene. Whether facing financial difficulties, relationship struggles, medical concerns, or overwhelming personal challenges, believers must remember that Jesus conquered death itself. Nothing confronting us is more powerful than the resurrection. Dr. Dave emphasizes that the empty tomb restores hope when circumstances have seemingly destroyed it. God’s timing may differ from ours, and His methods may challenge our expectations, but His power and faithfulness remain unchanged.

Section 3

Throughout the resurrection account, Dr. Dave returns to one essential truth: the resurrection produces joy rather than fear. Without Christ’s victory over death, the foundation of Christian faith collapses. But because Jesus lives, believers possess confidence that extends beyond earthly circumstances and even beyond the grave. Remembering Abraham’s long wait for God’s promise, Dr. Dave encourages patience when answers seem delayed. Matthew identifies Jesus as Immanuel, meaning God with us, and concludes with His promise to remain with His followers always. Even David’s confidence in Psalm 23 rested upon God’s presence during life’s darkest valleys. When the enemy introduces lies, believers must answer with God’s truth. The empty tomb proves that Jesus has conquered death, God has not abandoned His children, and no circumstance can overturn His promise to remain with us forever.
